Accreditation of Staff

Principals are responsible to ensure all teaching staff in their school have the appropriate level of accreditation, or are progressing towards it in a timely way. This includes providing the ‘Pathways Spiritual’ program in their school.   Below is a brief summary of the LEA requirements:

At – Accreditation to teach in a Lutheran School For all staff not teaching Christian Studies in the classroom. 3 x Pathways
• Spiritual - (school based)
• Theological – (school based)
• Vocational - (LSA – register at: www.lsa.lutheran.edu.au/events )
 
Ac – Accreditation to teach Christian Studies in a Lutheran School

Staff who will be teaching Christian Studies in the classroom and who have not undertaken any other study in addition to their teaching qualification.

 *in some cases teachers may have done study in other tertiary institutions and may be eligible to gain recognition of prior learning.  Applications can be lodged with the LEA Accreditation Committee and forms can be downloaded from the LSA website.

Staff must undertake:
• Spiritual Pathways (school based)

• 10 modules of Equip over 3 years.
Year 1: Module 1&2
 Year 2: Modules 3-6 (or 7-10)
 Year 3: Modules 7-10 (or 3-6)

• Portfolio

  Staff who will be teaching Christian Studies in the classroom and have completed the ALC strand. Staff must undertake:
• Spiritual Pathways (school based)
• Portfolio
• ALC graduate interview with member of LSA Education Team.
 
Al – Accreditation as  a Leader in a Lutheran School   Completion of Leadership Development Program (LDP) and At status.
ACL – Accreditation as a Leader and as a teacher of Christian Studies   Completion of Leadership Development Program and Ac status.
